“If necessity is the mother of all invention, then ambition is the mother of all achievement." – Unknown
Ambition: The strong desire for achievement and the willingness to work towards it, even in the face of failure or adversity.
Aspiration: A hopeful desire to become better.
Greed: A disordered desire for more than is deserved, appropriate, or decent, not for the greater good but for one's own (perceived) interest.
The difference between Ambition and Greed lies in the intent of the pursuer and the overall impact of the pursuit. While both involve striving for something, that is where the commonality ends. Ambition is based upon the well-intended drive to improve oneself, attain higher levels of accomplishment, and pursue aspirations beyond one's current situation, while Greed seeks accumulation with reckless disregard and indifference for fairness to others. Good and Responsible Ambition coexists with empathy, fairness, and responsibility while Greed is a misanthrope.
Ambition - Greed - The Differences
Intent
Good Ambition is fueled by a strong determination for improvement. It is often motivated by personal growth, fulfillment, and the making of meaningful contributions to oneself and to the collective.
Greed is propelled by a dysfunctional and thus insatiable desire for more, without conscience, or regard to the second and third-order effects upon others, The Aftermath.
Boundaries
Ambition respects boundaries. Success should never come at the exploitation or harm to anyone.
Greed disregards boundaries. Greed is selfishness, dishonesty, or manipulation.
Spectrum
Ambition Achievement is a broad spectrum inclusive of lifestyle and material possessions, personal gratification, professional achievement, social status, quality of life, and most importantly spiritual contentment.
Greed is a narrowly focused and short-lived pursuit of material gain for accumulation.
Impact
Good Ambition benefits more than just the pursuer.
All Greed prioritizes personal gain over all else.
Vibration & Energy
Good Ambition is high vibration and emits positive energy in the pursuit of growth.
Greed emits low-frequency vibration of negative codependency and desperate attachment while in pursuit of ultimately futile gratification.
